Return of the River Bus Service

After a six-year hiatus, the river bus service has returned to Winnipeg, offering a scenic and convenient commute along the Assiniboine River. The service, operated by Winnipeg Waterways, began its maiden voyage with two taxis providing transit on weekdays during the morning and evening hours.

Stops include popular locations such as The Forks, the Manitoba Legislative Building, and the Esplanade Riel. The service aims to offer a unique commuting experience with the hope of expanding in the future​.

Original Pancake House Relocates After Two Decades

The Original Pancake House, a beloved local eatery, is closing its doors at The Forks after 20 years of operation.

The restaurant has been a staple in the community, known for its breakfast offerings and welcoming atmosphere. The closure marks the end of an era for the establishment as it seeks a new location, reflecting the dynamic changes within the city's culinary scene.

Prime Minister Visits Filipino Pavilion in Winnipeg

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a surprise visit to the Filipino pavilion at Winnipeg's Folklorama festival, delighting attendees.

During his visit, Trudeau emphasized the importance of cultural diversity in Canada and expressed appreciation for the vibrant Filipino community in Winnipeg, which has been an integral part of the city's cultural tapestry

Folklorama, the world’s largest and longest-running multicultural festival, returns to Winnipeg from August 4 to August 17, 2024. This beloved festival invites you to explore over 30 pavilions, each offering a unique cultural experience through vibrant performances, delicious cuisine, and authentic displays of art and traditions from around the globe. It’s a celebration of the rich diversity that makes Winnipeg a vibrant and inclusive city.
